Terms of service

1. What Ryker's Realm is

Ryker's Realm is a private World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King server run by fans. One person in the United States runs it as a hobby. It's free to play. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Blizzard Entertainment, Inc.

2. Your account

• Keeping your password safe is on you, and so is anything done on your account.
• Use an email that actually works. It's the only way to get back in if you forget your password.
• You can have more than one account, just not to get around a ban.
• Don't sell, share or give away your account.

3. Rules of play

You can get warned, suspended or banned for:

• Cheating, abusing bugs, or using bots or automation we haven't allowed.
• Harassing, threatening or being abusive to other players or staff, whether that's in game, on the forums, in DMs or in the Discord.
• Advertising other servers, or selling realm items, gold, accounts or Donor Points for real money.
• Attacking our servers or trying to get into things you weren't given access to.
• Posting anything illegal, or anything that sexualises minors.

Staff make the call on what breaks these rules. If you think we got it wrong, email rykersrealm@gmail.com and we'll take another look.

4. Donor Points

• Donor Points are a licence to use a feature of the realm, not property. You do not own them and they are not a deposit, credit or investment.
• They have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts or players, and cannot be exchanged for money except through the refund policy.
• Buying them is optional. You never need them for anything on the realm.
• Prices and what's in the shop can change at any time. If a price changes, the points you already have don't lose any value.
• You need to be 18 or older, or have a parent or guardian's OK, to buy.
• Stripe handles payments. We never see or store your card details.
• Buying Donor Points is a purchase of a licence, not a charitable donation or gift. Ryker's Realm is not a registered charity and payments are not tax-deductible.

5. If the realm closes

This is a hobby project, so it might end someday. If we ever shut the realm down for good, we'll give you at least 30 days' notice in the launcher and the Discord and stop selling Donor Points right away. If you ask, we'll refund any unspent points you bought in the 90 days before. You can still spend whatever points you have left during those 30 days.

6. Downtime and changes

The server runs out of a house, so it can go down for maintenance, power cuts or when something breaks, sometimes without warning. Characters, items and progress might get changed, reset or lost because of a crash, a backup restore or a balance change. We do our best to avoid that and fix things when it happens, but the realm is provided as-is, with no guarantee it'll always be up or that your progress will be kept.

7. Limits

To the extent the law allows, Ryker's Realm is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the realm. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your statutory consumer rights.

8. Changes to these terms

We might update these now and then. If anything big changes, we'll post about it in the launcher and the Discord. The date at the top tells you when they last changed.

9. Contact

Email rykersrealm@gmail.com or open a ticket in the launcher's Support tab.
