Privacy policy

What we keep

• Your account: your account name, email and when you signed up. We never store your actual password, just a scrambled version that can't be turned back into it.
• Your characters and progress: the normal game stuff any WoW server keeps.
• IP addresses: logged when you connect so we can deal with abuse and make bans stick.
• Community stuff: forum posts, support tickets, DMs between players, friend lists, and your profile picture, display name and about-me if you've set them.
• Support info: when you open a ticket, the launcher might attach your launcher version, Windows version, game version and whether the memory patch is on. That's it. No file paths or anything else from your PC.
• Payments: the amount, currency, date, status and how many points you bought. Your card number never touches us. It goes straight to Stripe.
• Discord: if you link your Discord, we only keep your Discord user ID so your friends can see if you're online there. Other players never see your Discord username.

Who else sees it

• Stripe handles payments, so they see whatever you type into their checkout page, like your card and billing info. Here's Stripe's privacy policy.
• Cloudflare hosts the game files the launcher downloads, so they see your IP address while you're downloading. Here's Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• Google delivers our emails (sign-up codes, password resets, ticket updates), since we send them from a Gmail account.
• Discord, if you decide to link your account.

That's everyone. We don't sell, rent or trade your info, and there are no ads or third-party tracking.

Where it lives

The realm's databases run on our own hardware in the United States. The game files on Cloudflare are just the game itself, and there's nothing about you in them.

How long we keep it

• Account and character data: until you ask us to delete it.
• Server logs with IP addresses: a few months, then they get overwritten.
• Payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules say we have to, even if you delete your account, because we need to be able to show a payment happened.

What you can do

• See what we have on you: email us and we'll tell you.
• Delete your account: email us and we'll wipe your account, characters, posts, messages and profile. Payment records stay, like we said above.
• Fix your email: change it yourself in the launcher, or ask us to.
• Remove your profile picture or about-me: do it in the launcher whenever you want.

Depending on where you live, you might have more rights over your data. Just ask and we'll respect them.

Kids

Ryker's Realm isn't meant for kids under 13, and we don't knowingly keep info about them. If you think someone under 13 made an account, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

We only store passwords in scrambled form. The launcher's connection to the realm is encrypted and locked to our own key, so nobody can snoop on it. Still, nothing's perfect, so use a password you don't use anywhere else.
